Here's what our previous guests have to say!

'Romantic & Relaxing'

I took my wife to Misty View for our "babymoon" to have a weekend away to relax. The place was perfect for this. The cottage was hidden away from the world, with a beautiful view down to Baroon Lake, and nothing but greenery between. The cottage we stayed in was modern, well designed and well appointed.

'Stunning & Luxurious Getaway'

The property is absolutely stunning, the photos don't do it justice. Incredible views, secluded, private, cosy and comfortable. There is not one thing that's missing. The finer details are well thought out. One of the best places I have stayed at. Highly recommend it for anyone that is looking for a relaxing, luxurious and romantic getaway in the hinterland with warmth of the fireplace (or air-con) and a huge spa bath. We stayed in the Red Cedar Cottage.

'Perfect Weekend'

We just came back from a beautiful weekend at Montville Misty View Cottages, and it was so lovely I was inspired to write a review immediately! We stayed in the Blue Gum Cottage and there wasn't a single issue with the cottage with regards to cleanliness and functionality. The cottage makes ingenious use of the space that it has with a split-level design giving the impression of many rooms, with the living/lounge room and kitchen on the lower floor, and the bathroom, bedroom and spa room on the upper floor. The BBQ hamper (an optional extra) was delicious but so filling that we had leftovers for the next day. The breakfast hamper similarly was a more than adequate amount of food, and you will hear no complaints from us re: the quality. If you are looking for privacy but also proximity to the town centre, then look no further than these cottages, as we didn't hear or see anything from our neighbours or the owners apart from check-in and out! Montville is literally right around the corner. What more could you ask for? :)

'Balinese Cottage'

Misty View always offers that escape away from everyday life. The Balinese Cottage is perfectly hidden, has breathtaking views and that plunge pool is perfect. The cottage itself has everything you need, from a king size bed, double shower out looking the garden, spa bath and a cute kitchen.

'Serene & Tranquil'

My husband & I recently stayed at their Silky Oak Cottage for 2 nights. This accommodation was the perfect place for us to relax & have time to ourselves. We were greeted by the lovely couple who owns Misty View Cottages & they were so friendly & very helpful. The cottages are all self-contained, very clean & had all cutleries etc. provided for us. Breakfast was included & we ordered the BBQ pack the 2 nights we were there. All we had to do was cook them in the BBQ. We had beautiful views of Lake Baroon & the Cottages are far away from each other so you don't see the other guests. We didn't want to leave & we're definitely coming back to stay

* My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary last month with a weekend at the Blue Gum Cottage. We had a wonderful time. The owners are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The Cottage is secluded and overlooks Lake Baroon. Looking forward to our next visit! (Guests from Brisbane - October 2015)

* We wanted somewhere where we could feel relaxed and didn't want to bump into people. The best holiday we have ever had. You go out for the day and see all the beautiful sights all close by like Montville Township and the national park walks, the wineries, Maleny cheese factory that's just to name a couple of things, there is a lot more than that to do. Then you can come back and have a spa, a wonderful meal all overlooking the lake by the fire place. We will be back soon. (Guests from Ipswich - August 2015)

* What a fantastic place ... where to start? The views from the Red Cedar Cottage - magical. From the beautiful trees and forest in the foreground, steeply down to Lake Barron in the valley, to the green mountains to the South .... rainy, misty winter wonderful. The cottage - so well designed that I want to build one on my place. Not a cabin. A well-designed, luxury cottage, where as soon as we walked in, we wanted to stay for a month. The spa - perfect. Glass and louvres and the feel of being in the forest while being totally spoiled by warm water and bubbles - amazing. The fire - warm and toasty. Everything was just right. The coffee, the breakfast hamper, the abundance of gorgeous beauty products. Faultless. Cannot recommend this establishment more highly. Thank you Donna for providing us with such a special night. We enjoyed every second. (Guests from Brisbane - June 2015)

* My husband and I stayed in the Bali cottage for our 15th wedding anniversary. We were extremely impressed with all the small touches (eg homemade chocolate brownie, complimentary port, the delicious breakfast hamper) and the beautiful hospitality of Donna and Colin. Our first stay in Bali was exceptional, but the new addition of a pool and updated bathroom left us not wanting to leave. Words can't describe how peaceful, homely and relaxing it is. Thanks Donna and Colin, we'll definitely be back! (Guests from Brisbane - May 2015)

* Great location, hosts and facilities. We stayed in the Balinese Cottage - so very special. With the additional of the plunge pool at about 32 degrees - it was sensational. This is the third time we have visited, and we will be back again its so great. For a special weekend away from it all, its perfect. (Guests from Brisbane - April 2015)

* I have never in my life stayed in a more beautiful place! So peaceful, tranquil, relaxing! It is everything my husband and I needed and more. Food was superb and the service was extraordinary! You will not be disappointed and we will back again and again!!!!! (Guests from Brisbane - February 2015)

* We loved our stay so much at the cottages we booked again in July last year (i've been meaning to place this review earlier but its taken a while).....this time we booked the balinese cottage and what a beautiful surprise we got!....the cottage is just down the road but you feel like you have the entire property to yourselves!....A gorgeous romantic cottage with all the amenities and the lovely bathroom that really takes you back to nature!!!....Colin and Donna made our stay once again perfect!!....the generous breakfast package was just divine once again and the home made bread a real winner!...we loved using the compact bbq on the very private verandah and the views were just spectacular!....if you get the chance to visit this peace of heaven on earth we can highly recommend it...everything is thought of and the service excellent!....We will be returning!!!! (Guests from Brisbane - January 2013)

* We had a fantastic weekend staying at Misty View. The setting is superb and the cottages offer everything you need for the perfect getaway. Misty View is only 2.5km from Montville town centre and there is a great winery just a few minutes walk away. It's the small touches that made it a great weekend away such as late check out, chocolates on bed, cheese platter on arrival and pre stacked fireplace ready to light to name a few. The chocolate fondue is a must. (Guests from Brisbane - November 2012)

* We had the best experience at Misty View Cottages and would recommend staying there without hesitation. We loved it so much that we extended an extra night!! We were in the Jacaranda cottage- very tastefully furnished! You are nicely secluded from the three other cottages, nestled amongst the trees and surrounded by beautiful rainforest. The cottage layout is really well thought out- you can enjoy the view of Lake Baroon from every room and you are completely unaware of the other cottages. There are so many creature comforts provided which really make the most lovely touches. Some of my favourites were the provided tealight candles, fluffy slippers, local chocolates, firewood supply, reading material and the incredible breakfast hamper. It was a particularly nice thought that much of the breakfast hamper included local products or home made/ grown goodies. Even the tea and coffee facilities go above and beyond- a tea chest with half a dozen different herbal teas and a proper plunger for real coffee! There are DVDs available to borrow from reception- but we recommend grabbing what you want when you first arrive because reception may be unattended if the hosts are working on the cottages. The Montville area is very quaint and romantic, we particularly loved the endless bush walks through stunning rainforest. We were so nervous about picking Montville accommodation because there are so many places which looked similar online. We could not be happier having picked Misty View and from driving around and peeking at their competitors, we think that we really got the best value and experience for money. Tranquility, serenity, romance, relaxation... they sound like trendy words from a brochure but they were our genuine experience at Misty View. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Colin and Donna- you have done an amazing job. (Guests from Brisbane - August 2012)

* We loved our stay at Misty View Cottages. We chose the Balinese style cottage at the bottom of the property, which was very tucked away and private, and have everything we needed for a relaxing luxurious break away from our busy lives. The view from the bedroom window is just gorgeous, it was magical waking up each morning with the mist over Lake Baroon, and watching it slowly lift to reveal the lake and it's wonderful colours and wildlife. The lodge is very sweet, cosy and comfortable with modern fixtures and fittings, you really couldn't want more, and Colin and Donna's warm friendly hospitality is second to none!! We didn't want to leave, and are looking forward to our next relaxing romantic break away. (Montville is a gorgeous little town full of great shops and yummy food!) (Guests from Mt Warning - July 2012)

* We stayed in the Balinese cottage at Misty View for 2 nights in June and really loved it. The cottage was very private and beautifully furnished and decorated. The views of the mist over the lake were stunning and it was so quiet. The breakfast hamper was great and we loved feeding the fish in the pond at the front door! Misty View was a wonderful, relaxing and luxurious place to stay, so thank you! (Sally from Brisbane - June 2012)

* The first thing that you notice is the amazing view out to Lake Baroon, then the spacious and attractive split-level layout of the cottage. The cottages have been recently refurbished, and have a chalet-type feel with a cathedral ceiling and exposed beams. They are well spaced apart so you feel like you are the only people there. Having stayed in quite a number of couples retreat accommodation, I can honestly say that Misty View checks all the boxes. King bed - check, spa with a view - check, complete privacy - check, surrounded by nature - check, peace and quiet - check. (Marg from Brisbane - February 2012)

* From the moment we arrived we were impressed with the warmth of our hosts and the well maintained grounds. The views from every aspect of this property are sensational. Our cottage was breathtaking in its luxury and privacy and there is nothing you could want for in terms of what is supplied. The breakfast hamper was generous in proportions and catered for every taste. The owners have outdone themselves in terms of providing only the best for their guests. We will definitely be back. (from Brisbane - February 2012)

* We recently stayed 2 nights - found it lovely and quiet, secluded and romantic. Very comfortable king beds. The lake views from the cottage were fantastic. Managers were very friendly and organised courtesy bus from Montville bar n grill to take us into town for dinner. Breakfast hamper was very generous - loved the fresh fruit and chocolates as well. The cottages are very tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. Highly recommend Misty View for a perfect relaxing getaway. (Demi from Brisbane - January 2012)

* We were looking for peace and seclusion and we certainly found it at "Misty View". For a couple of days in December, we stayed in "Sunflower", one of four cottages surrounded by lush greenery with spectacular views of Lake Baroon. The cottage was "a little world apart" and we enjoyed it all: the beauty and privacy of the setting and the well-appointed interior with everything to ensure our comfort and relaxation. We left feeling refreshed and "at peace with the world" (Jake from Queensland - December 2011)
